Toyota Tacoma Dash Camera Power Adapter Install
What's My Pin Count?
The pin count for your dash camera power adapter can vary depending on your vehicle. Here’s a quick guide to help you identify the right one:
- 7-pin: Typically found on 2003–2019 Toyota 4Runners with an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The adapter connects directly to the back of the mirror, no need to access the overhead console.
- 10-pin: Typically used in 2020–2024 Toyota 4Runners and is accessed via the vehicle’s overhead console.
- 12-pin: Typically associated with 2014+ Toyota Tundras, some 2010+ 4Runners and 2016–2023 Toyota Tacomas. These usually connect to the back of the rearview mirror.
- 14-pin: Typically related to 2005–2015 Toyota Tacomas or 2007–2013 Toyota Tundras. These usually connect to the back of the rearview mirror.
Again, this is a helpful guide but please be sure to check your vehicle's pin count before purchasing to ensure compatibility!
