Unlike common injection-molded plastic storage boxes, the Backwoods Tacoma Side Box is constructed from 1/8" aluminum with stainless steel mounts, lockable latches, an integrated MOLLE panel, adjustable interior shelving, and gas-assisted lid operation.

Heavy-Duty 1/8" Aluminum Construction

The Tacoma Bed Rack Storage Box is built entirely from 1/8" aluminum, providing a durable storage solution without the bulk of a traditional steel toolbox.

Stainless steel mounting brackets securely attach the box to the compatible Backwoods Tacoma Bed Rack, while stainless steel black oxide hardware provides a clean, finished appearance.

The complete storage box weighs approximately 38 lbs.

Designed Specifically for the Backwoods Tacoma Bed Rack

This isn't a universal truck-bed toolbox. The box is specifically engineered to integrate with the Backwoods Full-Height Bed Rack for Toyota Tacoma.

You can install one storage box per side, allowing you to run a single box or equip both sides of the rack for additional storage.

Because the boxes mount along the sides of the bed rack, you retain valuable cargo space inside the truck bed for coolers, camping equipment, totes, and larger gear.

Integrated Exterior MOLLE Panel

An integrated MOLLE panel on the outside of the box adds another layer of storage and customization.

Use the panel to secure compatible recovery equipment, tools, pouches, camping accessories, and other frequently used gear outside the box for quick access.

The MOLLE panel also comes pre-drilled for a RotopaX mount, providing a convenient no-fabrication solution for carrying compatible fuel or water containers.

RotopaX container and mount are sold separately.

Two Adjustable Interior Shelves

Inside the box, two fully adjustable shelves help keep your equipment organized instead of letting everything collect at the bottom.

Adjust the shelf positions to accommodate different-sized equipment and configure the interior around the gear you carry most often.

This makes the box equally useful for smaller tools and recovery equipment or larger camping and overland supplies.

Gas-Strut Assisted Lid

The Tacoma Storage Box includes three gas struts, allowing you to configure the lid support based on how much weight you're carrying on the exterior MOLLE panel.

For a standard setup without additional weight mounted to the outside panel, Backwoods recommends using two gas struts.

If you're carrying a RotopaX container or another heavier accessory on the exterior panel, use all three gas struts for additional lid support.

The gas-assisted design makes opening the box easier and helps hold the lid open while you're accessing your equipment.

Lockable Push-Button Latches

Integrated lockable push-button latches provide convenient access while helping secure your equipment when you're away from the truck.

Two rubber latch covers are included to provide additional protection for the latch assemblies when your Tacoma is exposed to rain, dust, mud, and trail conditions.

Weather-Resistant Gasket

A high-quality rubber gasket runs around the lid to help prevent dust and water from entering the storage compartment.

This makes the box well suited for camping, overlanding, off-road travel, and everyday use where equipment may regularly be exposed to changing weather and dusty trail conditions.
