🛠️Tools Needed:
- Panel removal tool
- 10mm socket
- Ratchet wrench
- Socket extension
- Zip ties
- Razor knife
- Wire fish
📝Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Disassembling the Dash
Remove the radio:
- Using a panel tool remove the plastic cover from the dash that covers tha back of the radio.
- Use a panel tool to gently pry upward to release the clips
- Place a towel of other soft cloth over the shift knob.
- Remove the four bolts that secure the radio using a 10 mm socket.
- Short socket extension is recommended.
- Remove the radio by pulling straight out towards you.
- Remove the 28 and 30 pin connector from the back of the radio by depressing the tab on the connectors.
Remove plastic panels on driver side foot well:
- Remove the two 10 mm bolts securing the plastic panel.
- Depress the tabs and gently pull down to release the panel.
Remove plastic panels on passanger side foot well:
- Remove the passanger sill plate by prying up with a panel tool or by hand.
- Remove the retaining nut on the kick panel by turning counter clockwise.
- Remove the kick panel by pulling towards the rear of the truck to release the clips.
Step 2: Mount The Front Camera
Mounting the front camera:
- Find a suitable mounting location on the front grille or bumper.
- Mounting location may vary depending on your preference of location and camera view.
- Route the camera wire behind the grille, passanger side head light and along the firewall towards the main firewall grommet, secure with zip ties as needed.
Route camera extension wire trough firewall grommet:

Locate the main firewall grommet on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- Locate a spot to cut an "X" in the grommet using a utility knife. Keep in mind that many Toyota firewall grommets have an exterior and interior membrane that you will need to cut through. Take extra care to not damage any other vehicle wiring when cutting your "X."
- You may choose to use a wire fish or metal coat hanger to assist in passing the extension wire from the engine bay to the interior.
- Route the extension wire down the kick panel and through the factory wire channel, under the carpet and to the power side of the amplifier.
- The female connector of the extension harness needs to connect to the camera wire in the engine bay.
- It is recommended to tape the connection to ensure it does not come loose.
- The male connector of the extension wire needs to be passed into the cab of the truck to make connection to the camera power harness.
Step 3: Connect the Camera Selector Interface
Connect the interface module to your factory head unit:
- Connect the male 28 and 30 pin connectors from the T-Harness into the back of the factory radio.
- Connect the male 28 and 30 pin connectors from the vehicle to the female 28 and 30 pin connectors on the T-Harness.
- Route the female barrel connector for the front camera down inside of the dash and towards the passanger floor board.
- Connect the female barrel connector from the camera interface to the male barrel connector from the front camera extension wire.

Step 4: Mount the Camera Selector Switch
- Route the switch harness down inside the dash and towards the drivers footwell.
There are 2 recommended mounting locations for the camera switch:
Option 1: Center console
- Remove the center console trim that surrounds the gear selector.
- Use a panel tool to pry up on the panel to release the clips.
- Remove your preferred switch location by pressing the blank out from the back of the panel.
- Route the switch cable under the edge of the plastic that surrounds the transmission tunnel and up into the area next to the shifter.
- Insert the switch into the switch blank till is snaps into place.
- Connect the switch harness to the back of the switch.
- Secure any loose wire and press the center console trim back into place.
Option 2: Switch panel to the left of the steering wheel
- Remove the switch panel by prying it out with a panel tool.
- Route the switch harness though the dash towards the switch panel.
- Remove your preferred switch location by pressing the blank out from the back of the panel.
- Insert the switch into the switch blank until is snaps into place.
- Connect the switch harness to the back of the switch.
- Secure any loose wire and press the panel back into the dash.
Step 5: Testing and Interface Programming
The include module allows you to set several features:
- Front camera display timer
- Front camera auto turn-on
- Additional camera inputs
- Backup camera PTV "Push To View"
- Factory reset
Please refer to the included manual for specific programming features and options.
Step 6: Reassembly
Installation of head unit:
- Ensure that all connects are made to factory head unit.
- Secure and loose wires and tuck them out of the way.
- Place the radio back into the dash and press into place until clips lock.
- Secure with four 10 mm bolts.
- Replace plastic trim panel on back of radio by pressing into place.
Replace plastic trim:
- Replace door sills, kick panel and foot well cover panels.
