- Remove the dial on the bass control knob by pulling it off the adjustment stem.
- Remove the locking nut using a small wrench.
- Remove the back cover of the bass control knob by prying it off.
- Remove the adjustment stem and circuit board.
- Place the adjustment stem of the bass control knob into the switch blank.
- Secure the adjustment stem with the locking ring.
- Turn the adjustment stem all the way to the left.
- Install the knob being sure to line up the indicator mark to the adjustment stem.
Step 2: Disassembling the Dash
- Remove plastic trim panel behind radio screen by inserting panel removal tool and gently prying up.
- Remove the four 10 mm bolts securing the factory radio.
- Remove radio from dash by pulling outwards towards your self.
- Disconnect all of the connectors on the rear of the radio and set the radio to the side in a safe space.
Step 3: Disassembling Your Tacoma
- Remove the four bolts securing the front seat using a T47 Torx bit.
- Disconnect any wire connections from the seat bottom.
- Remove the driver seat from the vehicle and set to the side.
Remove the door sill plates:
- Remove the driver door sill plate by gently pulling up
- Repeat the same for the driver rear door if you are installing the subwoofer.
- Unhook the carpet from the door sill mounts to release the edge of the carpet.
- Remove the kick panel on the driver side at the bottom of the A-pillar.
- Remove the plastic retainer securing the panel.
- Gently pull out on the panel to remove.
- Pull up the carpet the best you can under where to driver seat was.
- Remove the two 10 mm bolts that secure the ANS module to the floor. Save the bolts, we will reuse those soon.
- Remove the connector from the module by depressing the tab. Completely remove the ANS module, this will no longer be needed.
Step 4: Making Wiring Connections To Head Unit
Main harness to head unit:
- Using the provided amplifier harness, connect the black male 10 pin connector into the back of the factory radio.
- Connect the black female 10 pin connector from harness to the male 10 connector coming from the vehicle.
- Connect all other harness from the truck to the head unit.
- Using a phillips head screw driver or socket loosen one of the factory bolts on the side of the head unit and secure the harness grounding wire.
- Remove the bolt on the side of the factory head unit,
- Insert the bolt through the ring terminal on the end of the ground wire extension and
- Secure the bolt back to the factory radio
- The Blue/White stripe wire will not be used in this application.
Secure the factory head unit:
- At this point you can place the factory radio back into the dash.
- We recommend securing it with one 10 mm bolt until your are completely finished with the install. This way if you need to double check the radio connections, the radio is more easily removed.
Routing the amplifier harness:
- Route the Amplifier side of the harness down the left side of the radio having it come out of the dash near the steering column.
- Route the amplifier harness along the bottom of the dash over to the door opening, use the provided zip ties to secure the harness as needed.
- Continue routing the amplifier harness down the A-pillar and to the wire chase along the driver door under where you removed the sill plate.
Routing the bass control wire:
- Coming from the main harness you will find a 3.5 mm headphone jack, this is the bass control knob wire.
- Select a suitable square switch blank on your dash where you would like to place the bass control knob.
- Remove the switch blank; this is best done by pushing it out from the back of the dash or gently prying it out.
- Route the bass control wire down to and out of the switch blank hole.
- Connect the 3.5 mm head phone jack to the jack on the bass control knob.
- Feed any extra wire back into the dash and press the bass control knob assembly into place. The switch blank should snap into place and fit flush with the dash.
Step 5: Routing the Power Wire
Running the power wire from battery:
- Mock up where you want to mount the fuse block.
- Connect the short length of power wire to the fuse block.
- Attach the other end of power wire to the fuse block.
- Secure using the Allen wrench.
- Place the plastic cover over the completed fuse assembly.
- DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER WIRE TO THE BATTERY YET!
- Our recommendation is to run the power wire along the inside of the passanger side fender towards the firewall and across the fire wall towards the driver side firewall grommet.
- Use zip ties to secure the wires so that they are free of moving or hot engine components.
- Locate the main firewall grommet on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- Locate a spot to cut an "X" in the grommet using a utility knife. Keep in mind that many Toyota firewall grommets have an exterior and interior membrane that you will need to cut through. Take extra care to not damage any other vehicle wiring when cutting your "X."
- You may choose to use a wire fish or metal coat hanger to assist in passing the power wire from the engine bay to the interior.
- Route the power wire down the kick panel and through the factory wire channel, under the carpet and to the power side of the amplifier.
- Connect the power wire to the amplifier and secure with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
Step 6: Routing The Ground Wire
- Using the provided black ground cable, secure the ring terminal to the pre-threaded factory hole under the carpet.
- Route the ground cable to where the amplifier will be mounted.
Step 7: Making Connections To Amplifier
- Place amplifier under carpet on drivers floor.
- Connect the power wire to the amplifier and secure with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
- Connect the ground wire to the amplifier and secure with a 3 mm Allen wrench.

Step 10: Test System
- Power On and Verify Functionality:
- Turn on your vehicle and test the audio system.
- Confirm that both the radio and amplifier are functioning properly.
- Adjust Gain Levels:
- Choose a song that plays continuously for a few minutes.
- Turn the volume on your head unit to about 75% of the maximum volume.
- Using a small flathead screwdriver, adjust the Front to your desired sound level.
- Repeat the process for the Rear.
- Adjust the Sub gain last to set your desired bass level.
- ⚠️ Warning: If you hear distortion, clipping, or audio cutting out, the gain is set too high—reduce accordingly.
