This guide is designed for a 4runner with No Factory Slide Out Tray or 3rd Row Seating.

🛠️ Tools Needed
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet wrench (Manual or powered)
- Panel removal tool (Plastic preferred)
📝Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Disassembling The Cargo Area
- Using a pry tool or panel removal tool lift the covers on the D-rings.
- Pry from the side closest to the D-ring to open.
- Use a 10 mm socket to remove the 10 mm bolt from each D-ring.
- Lift plastic D-rings housings out of the floor trim.
- If you would like to reuse the D-rings during the installation of your gear plate:
- Remove the keeper washer from the 10 mm bolt.
- Remove the D-ring from the plastic housing by prying out with panel tool
- Set the D-rings to the side for installation.
- The factory 10 mm bolts ad plastic housing will not be re-used.
- Lift up on the floor trim to release the retainers.
- The floor trim will not be used for installation.
Step 2: Installation Of Gear Plate
- Take this time to clean the cargo area and carpet before installation of the gear plate.
- Insert the gear plate with the 2 recessed mounting locations facing up and towards the back seat.
- Line up the mounting holes in the gear plate with the factory D-ring mounting points.
- Mount the gear plate:
- Option 1 (No D-rings):
- Use the provided 10 mm bolts and washers to secure the gear plate to the points where the D-rings were mounted.
- Use the provided 10 mm bolts and washers to secure the gear plate to the points where the D-rings were mounted.
- Option 2 (D-rings)
- Place the provided 10 mm bolts through the D-ring and than secure the gear plate to the points where the D-rings were mounted.
- We recommend using either blue or red lock-tite.
